TheBBChave been blasted by disgruntled viewers on social media over their decision to air Match of the Day on Saturday evening with no pundits, presenters, or commentary.

Lead presenterGary Linekerwas axed from Saturdays broadcast over a recent tweet that saw him compare the UK Governments planned policy over asylum seekers to 1930s Germany.

His removal from the show was followed byco-hosts and commentators refusing to appear on Saturdays football highlights show, with radio commentators and even some Premier League managers and players boycotting interviews with the organisation.

Now social media is having its say after the unusual action-only broadcast that saw a round-up from six Premier League fixtures, includingManchester Citys hard-fought win over Crystal Palace.

Lineker - who appeared at Leicesters 3pm game against Chelsea - has received swathes of support for his actions as some questioned the BBCs decision to go ahead with airing their latest MOTD episode.
