Evertons position in the Premier League table has been imagined in a world without the video assistant referee (VAR).

TheBlueshave now gone into the mid-season break due to the World Cup in Qatar. Everton are now not back in league action until they face Wolves at Goodison Park on Boxing Day.

Frank Lampards side suffered a 3-0 defeat in their final fixture before the break. That result leaves the Blues in 17th place in the Premier League table and one point above the relegation zone.

VAR has played a key role in the season for pretty much every club across the top flight. For Everton,ESPNhave predicted how the table would look for the Blues had the Premier League not used technology to help referees.

Their report states that, had VAR not been used this season, Everton would still be in 17th place in the table. However, they add that the Blues would have two points more than the 14 they already have earnt.

It has been stated that Conor Coadys disallowed goal against Liverpool in the Merseyside derby at the start of September would have been allowed to stand without VAR. This would cause Everton to have two additional points to their total.
