Mashatile reportedly married Humile Mjongile in a traditional wedding ceremony. The couple will have a public ceremony later this year.

According to a newspaper report, Deputy President Paul Mashatile married Humile Mjongile this week.

City Pressreportedthat Mashatile sent a delegation to Humiles family home in Ekurhuleni over the weekend to pay lobola.

Mashatiles spokesperson, Keith Khoza, confirmed the lobola negotiations and added that there was a traditional wedding celebration over two days.

The spokesperson toldCity Pressthat members of the media were not invited because these private events are normally the first step.

Mashatile and Mjongile will reportedly have a wedding with guests later this year. The now-deputy presidents wife, Manzi Ellen,died a week after his mothers funeralin 2020.

Humiles late husband former ANC Western Cape Secretary Songezo Mjongile died of colon cancer in September 2020. The ANC said he wasdiagnosed in April 2020.

The South Africanpreviously reported that the wedded couple is a great match. They have reportedly been spotted together a few times, including at Tokyo Sexwales wedding to Natacha da Silva.
